The Network Operations Administrator will work with Delhi and London based colleagues to provide day-to-day operational support to our Customer's networking infrastructure. Activity included in this role will include: Operations Support - to the London campus network and UAE networks. Management and troubleshooting support to LAN, DWDM, DMZ, WAN, WLAN within a Cisco environment and the F5 load balancing infrastructure. Switching and Routing - Configuration of Cisco switching and routing to include: Vlan, Switch Port, Spanning Tree, Layer 3 Interfaces, HSRP, EIGRP and TCP/IP, QoS (quality of service) System management - IP Addressing, Switch Port and DHCP management Monitoring & Reporting - Network monitoring, response to alarms and alerts and production of management and statistical metric reports. Change Management - response to network change requests for project related work based on the internal change management processes. Network Management - Usage of tools to aid in support, monitoring and management of the network including NNM, EOTS, CiscoWorks, Net Flow, Application Vantage, Packet Capture (e.g wireshark), Packet Shapers and Riverbed Steelheads (WOCs). The Network Operations Team supports provides operational support to the our customer's London campus network (covering a number of sites) and networks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I n addition support is provided to the global wide area network in co-operation with our external supplier. Networking services are provided within a Cisco environment. The team is located jointly between our Global Shared Services Centre in Delhi and our customer's principle office in London.
Hours of work:
Split or shared shifts as follows (all times are UK time) Either 08.00 - 17.00 or 09.00 - 18.00 Monday to Friday 06.00 to 11.00 Saturday on an as needed basis Alternating 24/7 on-call support service out of core work hours Key Responsibilities
In order to perform this role you should be CCNA or CCNP qualified. You should have a minimum of two years' experience of internetworking, including demonstration of deep knowledge of Cisco technologies and best practices. You should have excellent technical knowledge in the Networking area, (particularly CISCO technologies) to include: Specific, hands-on, demonstrable expertise in implementing, managing and troubleshooting Cisco networking technologies; Experience of implementing and managing ENTERPRISE CLASS Cisco networks; Excellent network protocol knowledge covering IP, TCP, UDP, routing and Microsoft protocols (smb, dhcp, w ins, dns, dcom etc.). Experience of F5 load balancer would be an advantage. Some management systems knowledge of Windows OS, Linux/Unix would be an advantage. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential in order to function effectively in a matrix-managed environment and liaise effectively with global colleagues and team members at all levels. You should have considerable first-hand experience of providing IT support/service in a pressurised environment. You should be highly organised and have proven ability to operate well under pressure, working to tight deadlines. You should be able to identify tasks and manage them effectively to completion.
